  • Socket Weld Flange – Small-bore, high-pressure, one fillet weld

Socket Weld Flanges (SW Flanges) achieve smooth, high-strength connections without threaded joints or full-penetration welding. Insert the pipe into the socket until it abuts the shoulder, back off 1/16 inch to allow for thermal expansion, then apply a single fillet weld on the outside. Their static strength matches that of socket-weld flanges, while fatigue life improves by approximately 50%, making them particularly suitable for pipelines experiencing frequent pressure or temperature fluctuations.

    Size concerns buyers have:

    Nominal size

    ½" – 4" (DN 15 – DN 100)

    Pressure class

    150 – 2500 lb (PN 10 – PN 400)

    Ring face

    RF, MFM, RJ

    Materials

    A105, LF2, F304, F316, F51 duplex, etc.

    Weight

    0.5 kg – 1 800 kg

    Features of Socket Weld Flanges

Single-corner weld - No internal weld, preventing flow obstruction or crevice corrosion

Smooth bore - Pipe ID matches flange bore for low fluid resistance

Compact hub - Suitable for confined pipe racks, dense piping layouts, and skid-mounted modules

High rigidity: Socket weld flanges offer excellent rigidity, withstanding pressure and temperature variations per ASME B16.5.

    Typical Applications

    High-pressure steam tracing pipes

    Hydraulic and lubricating oil pipelines

    Chemical injection lines

    Sampling points on main pipelines

    Fire protection pipeline networks
